COVID-19 Information and Policy for the 2023 AGM
May 20, 2023
JASNA is committed to protecting all members and guests at the AGM, and we ask all conference attendees to do their part to safeguard their own health and that of others. Following long-term guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we strongly urge all members planning to attend the AGM to be up-to-date on COVID vaccines/boosters and to take appropriate precautions, such as wearing a face covering when traveling to and from the AGM.
While we are not mandating vaccines at the time of registration, COVID surges are unpredictable. JASNA will continue to closely monitor conditions between now and the start of the conference. JASNA reserves the right to modify its COVID-related policies and procedures at its sole discretion at any time. Such changes could include, as appropriate, institution of a requirement for proof of vaccination/booster, required use of face coverings, special measures for unvaccinated registrants, testing, and/or other provisions recommended by governmental or health authorities. Registrants will be informed of any such changes via email and postings here in the AGM Update Center. Please note: the AGM refund policy applies to COVID-related withdrawals/cancellations.
JASNA will be offering a Livestream/recorded option for the AGM. If you register for the AGM and later become unable to travel, you may switch to the Livestream/recorded option (see the 2023 AGM FAQ page for detailed deadlines and refund information). If you test positive or suspect you have contracted COVID while you are at the conference site, please contact the Vice President for Conferences using the contact information printed in the program booklet. Your cooperation in preventing the spread of COVID is appreciated, and we will work with you to provide alternate access to conference content if possible.
As a condition of AGM registration, registrants must acknowledge understanding of the COVID policy; agree to comply with all applicable COVID-related federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidance and follow the protocols required by JASNA and/or the conference venue; and acknowledge that JASNA cannot guarantee that attendees will not be exposed to or contract COVID while attending the conference. Additionally, registrants will be requested on the registration form to state whether they have or have not received COVID vaccinations/boosters. This voluntary disclosure does not violate HIPAA and is requested to enable us to contact unvaccinated registrants if a change in health and safety protocols becomes necessary.
Any updates to this policy will be posted here in the AGM Update Center. Please check for the latest version prior to beginning travel to the AGM.
