Tracing Jane Austen's Artistry

Join the Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho Region for a virtual meeting exploring Jane Austen's development as a writer through six ballroom scenes. We will discuss how Austen creates the scene through dialogue and description, what purposes the balls serve in the plot, and how she represents the consciousness of the heroine. Through comparing the early works to two Steventon novels and then two Chawton novels, we can see how Austen’s genius takes fire.
