The Objects of Our Affection: A Brief History of the Book as a Material Object

Join the Vancouver Region for a presentation by librarian Jamie Wood on the history of the book and bookmaking. She will also discuss how the book is studied as an object today and show how she conducts book repairs and binding. Following her presentation, she will demonstrate how to make an easy notepad with Japanese-style binding, and attendees will have the opportunity to make one. All supplies will be provided.
