Washington, D.C. Metro Region: Austen-Era Music
Apr 27
12:00 AM
Austen-Era Music
Save the date for an afternoon of Austen-era music with the Alexandria Chamber Music Society at the Lyceum in historic Alexandria. Jane Austen was an accomplished pianist and avid concert-goer in London and Bath, and of course music and dancing are central activities for the characters in her novels.
The Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Region and Alexandria Chamber Music Society are planning a program that will include music that Austen played and would have heard, along with English country dancing that the Austen family would have enjoyed at home.
Time is yet to be determined (and the date of April 27 to be confirmed).
