Michael Biddiss is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Reading. Previous appointments include Presidency of the Historical Association (UK) and of the Faculty of the History and Philosophy of Medicine at the Society of Apothecaries in the City of London. He has published widely on European intellectual developments since the Enlightenment. At home in Hampshire he is a volunteer at Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton.
