In Satire, Celebrity, and Politics in Jane Austen (2017), Jocelyn Harris, JASNA's 2019 Carol Medine Moss Keynote Speaker and Professor Emerita at the University of Otago, New Zealand, argues that Austen satirized celebrities up to and including the Prince of Wales, and was therefore political. Harris's other books include Jane Austen's Art of Memory (1989) and A Revolution Almost beyond Expression: Jane Austen's Persuasion (2007).
