I found Jane Austen when I was 15 years old and am now 77. I take P&P wherever I go.

Thank you for Emma!

I appreciate Jane Austen the most because she was a shrewd scrutinzer of character with the most eloquent way of describing the same.
My favorite quote of Jane Austen's sums up my life: "Without music, life would be a blank to me.” —Emma (1815). I hold a doctorate in music education. Were I not of the same sentiment, I'd never have pursued a doctoral degree in music.
Also, because I am a teacher of English Regency Dancing, this one is another of my favorites: "To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love.” —Pride and Prejudice (1813) When dancing it is not only the feet but the heart that is lifted and wants to fly.

Dear Jane, I miss you! Oh that there were more stories from your magical pen. How I love to reread your books, talk about your books, meet new friends because of your books, travel to conferences because of your books, watch movies about your books, visit places associated with your books, and how I learned to appreciate literature by many writers because of learning about your books. You are a special part of my life. As my husband once said - everybody needs a passion. Reading and talking about you are my passion. Rest in peace.

Thank you, Jane Austen, for opening worlds to me I would otherwise have never known or gotten to experience. You inspired me to published authorship setting me on new and exciting paths. Thank you. Thank you for sharing your genius, humor, wit and insights. You will live in our hearts forever.

Jane Austen has been a part of my life ever since I read and fell in love with Pride and Prejudice in high school. Now in college and an English major, I have been fortunate enough to have spent the past semester reading many of her works.

My Dearest Jane,
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being my truest companion through the happiest of my days and the saddest of my moments.
Lizzie, Elinor, Darcy and Wentworth have guided me from my teenage days through University and now into middle age. They have given me sound advice on relationships and love.
Your books have travelled many miles in backpacks, purses, boxes and suitcases with me. They have rested on many different shelves and night-tables. The pages have become worn and now your words appear on tablets and phones. So I can keep them close.
"But when pain is over, the remembrance of it often becomes a pleasure."- J.A. from Persuasion.
Fondly,
-KM
