Jane your words remain relevant 200 years later. You could not know the pleasure you were giving to generations while writing but I'm sure you are looking down at us with pleasure as we celebrate you and your works.

Dearest Jane, on July 18th I am thinking of you with some sadness but much pleasure, at the International Organization of Lace Annual Convention, near Philadelphia, PA, while taking a class in Tambour Work. Remembering Catherine Morland's "debating between her spotted and her tamboured muslin", I hope in your mind, you had her choose the latter, but either way, nothing can change my utter devotion to, and eternal gratitude for all your works!

My husband and I spent Jane's 200th commerative in Winchester Cathedral attending two beautiful ceremonies honoring Miss Austen. We were so blessed to be able to do this and we are coming home with a British coin with Jane on it. How Wonderful!

Jane Austen was an elegant writer. With a wonderful ability to use the language well. Although she lived 200 years ago she wrote about us. I'm sure we have all met a Charlotte or a Lady Catherine or a Mr. Collins. We are lucky to have her 6 novels and of course we wish there were more. Thank you Miss Austen,

We all love to instruct, though we can teach only what is not worth knowing.

At critical times of my life, I often turn to you Jane, for the beauty of your writing, for your humor and for your insights.
May your memory be a blessing
